I'm seeing things like this across Reddit a lot also - large groups and subreddits having a lot of in fighting and then breaking off into separate groups due to cultural differences, and then gatekeeping access with their own language, discourse channels etc. the worlds getting smaller again - maybe it will solve our posting ennui.
